We saw nothing...

That pillar of integrity Sheila Copps says Martin must have known: "Realistically, Treasury Board would have discussed it, and he was the vice-chair of Treasury Board." And not just Sheila. Another Liberal MP says it was discussed in caucus in front of him, as long ago as 1999. And a "senior Liberal official," in a letter obtained by the National Post, urged Martin to look into the brewing scandal in 2002. Who was that senior Liberal? The party's former national policy chairman, Akaash Maharaj, whose long, assiduous campaign for the party presidency was torpedoed at the last minute by the sudden entry of a favourite Martinite.
