David Kilgour is all but certain to leave the Liberal party, from the sound of things, and may cross the floor to the Conservatives -- the party he left in 1990. He's out of sorts with the ruling party over mad cow, gay marriage, and of course, Adscam:

"If you draw up a thing to make people want to vomit, this is it," said Kilgour. "This is everything to make you sick to the stomach. You can mumble the line, 'It's about a few people,' but there's really nothing you can say. "The Liberal Party is seen as looking on the public trust as a vulture looks on a dying calf. Here we are, a G7 country, acting like a northern banana republic. "What country is seen as more politically corrupt than us at the moment?"

Mind you, that's been apparent for some time. Why the sudden change of heart? Kilgour is disarmingly frank: “I have no desire for people to throw me out on my ear.”
