Ontario P.C. House Leader Bob Runciman (MPP, Leeds-Grenville) today called on the McGuinty government to withdraw controversial labour legislation after revealing that unions benefiting from the bill donated $200,000 to the Liberals at an unadvertised fundraiser in Vaughan Tuesday night. "The optics on this are incredibly shocking", said Runciman. "We're just about to begin public hearings on legislation that allows construction unions to do away with secret ballots in union organizing drives, and the same unions hand over $200,000 as a very fat thank you to the Liberals."
