Sing, sing, sing
More from Benoit Corbeil:
* Several people who today hold office in the governments of Paul Martin and Jean Charest were paid off by Jean Brault. He's going to name the names at Gomery.
* The secret network of Liberal party officials ("le réseau libéral") -- in effect a parallel government, with responsibility for doling out federal contracts, subsidies, and judicial appointments -- had as one of its aims the destruction of the Conservative party in Quebec. It was for that reason that Jean Charest was recruited to replace Daniel Johnson (who was persuaded to stand down) as Liberal leader in Quebec: not to "save Canada," but to dish the Tories.
* He agrees with Parizeau: the 1995 referendum was stolen. The "love-in" rally, in particular, was a clear violation of the referendum finance rules. I have to say I have no particular objection to this, since the referendum itself was an illegitimate, if not illegal, exercise. But it's bound to cause a massive storm in Quebec. Thank God the PQ were also on the take, or it would be even worse.
* He is no longer a Liberal, feeling betrayed that no one in the party came to his defence after Brault's testimony, and after he was fired from his job as a fundraiser for UQAM. Does that make him a "disgruntled former employee"?
