MAYBE I'M WRONG, but this strikes me as a big story in itself:
OOPS: CP is running it as a separate story. Contrary to what I had posted here earlier, the call came two days after Corbeil's round of media interviews. So it's possible that Alfonso just wanted to save young Corbeil from himself: that the reason he knew everyone would come out against him -- unanimously -- was that he knew what Corbeil was saying was false, and he knew that everyone else would say so...
Corbeil also said Gagliano himself called in mid-April to say "listen, Benoit, people will come out against you, unanimously." The former party executive said Gagliano added "you'll lose your reputation and you'll lose friends," comments Corbeil's lawyer, Guy Bertrand, said amounted to "intimidation." Gagliano admitted later Monday he called Corbeil but said he did not issue any threats or warnings.
