Ottawa's investment in Bombardier turns political ...

Ottawa's investment in Bombardier turns political -- actual CP headline. Turns political? What turnip truck midrange passenger jet did these people fall out of? In any event, the whole premise of the story -- that the Conservatives would oppose massive, indefensible handouts to uncompetitive corporations in a ruinous contest with other countries that no one can win; that the Conservatives would oppose giving away hundreds of millions of dollars to companies that use them to pay dividends to the controlling shareholder; that the Conservatives would oppose subsidizing anything or anyone that the Liberals have already promised a subsidy -- is false. Political? We have no politics in this country. We have only a bidding war, with one party enthusiastic to take part, the other reluctant, the winner being the party that can promise to redistribute more money from everyone to everyone than the other. CHEERY AFTERTHOUGHT: Mind you, we have no country either, so perhaps a national politics is superfluous.
