A FRIEND of mine suggests, in light of the Liberals' evident strategy of promising every province, city, or interest group whatever their heart desires -- together with a warning that all of these goodies will go up in smoke if they are defeated -- a possible Liberal slogan: "Vote Liberal and nobody gets hurt." At least, I think that was what he meant. But it calls to mind some other associations, no? ANOTHER SUGGESTION, from somewhere in the comments: Vote Liberal -- We haven't been corrupt lately. THEN THERE's my friend John Duffy's classic evocation of the Peterson government's unofficial slogan in its disastrous 1990 re-election campaign: More taxes for a French Ontario.
