More nuggets from Daniel Dezainde's second day on the stand:

Dezainde fingered Morselli as the mastermind of a parallel financing operation at the party's Montreal headquarters. In one example, Dezainde said he received a tip to check the phone book in 2001 to look up the number listed for the Liberal Party. Dezainde said the number listed wasn't for the party at all, but for the office of [Beryl] Wajsman.

Dezainde didn't say whether he asked the RCMP at the meeting three weeks ago to investigate Morselli. RCMP spokesman Sylvan L'Heureux, in keeping with a long-standing policy, wouldn't comment on the matter. "We can't comment on any of the sponsorship issues," L'Heureux said in an interview. "The investigation has been going on for a long time. There is a lot of stuff that the RCMP knows, but we can't comment on it."
