Bien étrange

Strange. The Liberals have pulled that ad -- it's not an ad, we never intended to run it, etc. -- hinting that Stephen Harper planned to impose martial law on the nation's cities ("Ziss vill teach you to vote Liberal!"). That is, they've pulled the English-language version. But the French version, which lists, among other of his sins -- against the Kyoto accord, for the war in Iraq, against a-woman's-right-to-choose, etc -- that he was for "the presence of the army in all our cities," is still up.
They obviously still think this worth mentioning in French. So why'd they pull it in English? UPDATE: Ah, this clears up the confusion:

The [English] ad was inadvertently posted on the Liberal website yesterday, then pulled because it is not currently running on television. "Mr. Harper's plan does call for a greater military presence in Canadian cities," Liberal spokesman Ken Polk said. The ad "was inadvertently posted," he said in an e-mail. Then he sent another e-mail, saying: "The ad has not been aired. It may still." A few minutes later in another e-mail, he said: "The ad will not air in its present form and was never intended to."
