Harper leads Martin in Quebec

If the Conservatives need a mantra of their own, this is it: the latest SES poll shows Harper beating Martin for "best prime minister" in Quebec. He leads in the West, he's behind in the East, they're neck and neck in Ontario, yadda yadda. But Quebec. A Conservative from the West, leading a Liberal from Quebec, in Quebec. And not just any Liberal, but Paul Martin, whose whole political career has been premised on the notion that he best "understood" Quebec, that he alone could win in Quebec. Mindblowing. (Thanks to ALW for spotting it.) ADDENDUM: Another interesting nugget from the "best prime minister" data -- Martin's slide has a noticeable starting point: December 15-16. Till then he was sailing along. There's a sharp rise in undecideds accompanying Martin's fall, which some days later move to Harper and (less so) Layton. It's really quite striking. Here, look (click to enlarge):
What happened December 15-16? The debates. Puts the coming week in an interesting light.
